The Special Investigations Unit says a body has been recovered after a vehicle entered Lake Ontario in Greater Napanee earlier this week.
The SIU is investigating after an Ontario Provincial Police traffic stop on April 21 ended with a vehicle going into the water.
Police say an officer tried to stop a driver on Bath Road around 10:55 p.m. A short time later, the vehicle went into a ditch and entered the lake near Highway 33 and County Road 21.
OPP divers found a deceased person inside the submerged vehicle on the night of April 22. The individual has not yet been identified.
The SIU has assigned a team that includes an investigator, a collision reconstructionist and two forensic investigators.
