A man and his dog are fine thanks to the Canadian Armed Forces who helped pull them to safety after their sailboat ran aground. On Monday the Crew from a Griffon helicopter was called to assist with bringing the pair to shore off Prince Edward County. The Coast Guard was also involved in the rescue but due to the shallow water they had to stay back from the shore. A CC-130 Hercules aircraft was used to locate the vessel. The Griffon helicopter was used to pick the two up after they walked along a rock-bar to reach the crew. They were then flown to shore where the OPP were waiting to lend a helping hand.
