Assisting EMS workers resulted in the arrest of wanted individuals this week. Belleville Police say they were called to a home in the west end of the city to assist EMS with a medical call. It’s alleged a woman had possibly overdosed on crystal meth and she was taken to hospital. During the course of the investigation police came across people hiding within the home. The first, a 29-year old woman from the city who was wanted on arrest warrants for: 4 counts of failing to comply with probation, and 3 counts of failing to comply with a recognizance. She’s now facing additional charges and was held for a bail hearing. A second person was also found hiding in the basement. Police arrested 37-year old Shane Michael McFarland of Belleville; wanted for transportation fraud earlier this week. It’s alleged he didn’t pay his over $400 dollar taxi fare and fled the scene. He was arrested and charged with obtaining transportation by fraud. He has been released on a promise-to-appear in court in February.
