Women on Weights
The first session is January 9th 2020 at 10 am at 310 Bridge street. The course starts as a 7 week program with once a week meetings on Thursday morning at 10.
This is a free program run by a registered Kinesiologist for women to learn how to use free weights, body weight, and machine based exercises to help them keep their bones and muscles strong to help to prevent bone loss. The program also consists of education about Osteoporosis, full fitness assessments, a presentation from the Dietician on healthy eating for healthy bones, as well as practical information for women about how to perform activities of daily living in a safe manner. This program is open to women of all ages and abilities who are interested in learning how to lift weights to prevent Osteoporosis. Women who have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis already are also welcome. It's a year long program ending in January 2021.
