A free clinic offering identification, employment help and community services is coming to Tweed on Wednesday.
The Centre for Workforce Development will host its Identification & Employment Clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gateway Community Health Centre.
The drop-in clinic is designed to help vulnerable, low-income and unhoused people access services in one location. Support will include help obtaining or replacing birth certificates, Social Insurance Numbers, Ontario health cards and Ontario photo ID cards.
Attendees can also receive employment and job search assistance, training information and connections to housing, income support, health care and community programs.
No appointment or registration is required. People are encouraged to bring any identification they have, including expired documents or photocopies, but it is not required.
The clinic follows events in Madoc and Bancroft that helped 54 people access 204 services.
