Belleville police are investigating after antisemitic flyers were distributed in the city’s east end.
The Belleville Police Service says it is asking anyone with information or video evidence related to the flyers to contact investigators at aboulay@bellevilleps.ca.
Police say the incident may cause concern in the community and that hate has no place in Belleville.
Officers are increasing patrols across the city, including around places of worship and other community gathering spaces.
Police are also staying in contact with community leaders and taking steps to support the safety and well-being of residents.
Police say anyone who witnesses or experiences a hate-motivated incident should call 911 in an emergency. Non-emergency reports can be made by calling the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882.
