Quinte Conservation will begin its annual fall dam operations on or after Oct. 13, with changing water levels expected in parts of the Moira and Napanee regions.
The work will affect several dams and weirs, including structures at Stoco Lake, Moira Lake, Beaver Lake, Big Clear Lake and Varty Lake.
Property owners upstream of the structures should expect water levels to decrease as the operations prepare the waterways for winter conditions.
Quinte Conservation is advising shoreline residents to remove boats, floating docks and other equipment before Monday, Oct. 12.
The affected areas include six structures in the Moira region and nine in the Napanee region.
Quinte Conservation serves 18 municipalities across the Moira, Napanee and Salmon River watersheds and Prince Edward County. The organization works on environmental protection and watershed management throughout the region.
