Kingston WritersFest is set to return this fall with more than 50 authors taking part in its 2026 festival.
The four-day event will feature authors working across a range of genres, including fiction, poetry, memoir, history and non-fiction.
Festival Director Bruce Geddes explains what folks should expect.
The lineup includes Canadian writers such as Michelle Good, Jody Wilson-Raybould, Anita Rau Badami, Maude Barlow, Wayne Johnston and Helen Humphreys.
Other featured authors include Ali Hassan, Duncan McCue, Kate Heartfield, Camilla Gibb, Marina Nemat and Kai Thomas.
Geddes explains that there are a few authors with a Kingston connection.
The festival will begin with a special kickoff event featuring Michelle Good in conversation with Shelagh Rogers on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
Good is the author of Five Little Indians, which won the 2021 Governor General’s Literary Award for fiction.
Kingston WritersFest says the festival aims to bring together readers, writers and people who love books, while highlighting both established and emerging authors.
The main festival will take place over October 1st-4th at the Kingston Marriott, with tickets already on sale.
