The Lennox and Addington Ontario SPCA will be bringing adoptable animals to a barbecue and vendor market in Napanee on Sunday.
The event, hosted by Paulmac’s, will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 20. The event will feature a barbecue, vendors and animals available for adoption.
Sara Vanderveer of the L&A OSPCA says events like the market help raise money for the centre’s ongoing needs.
The centre is also dealing with a busy kitten season, with foster homes still full and sick and injured animals continuing to arrive.
Vanderveer said the centre is always looking for more foster families, including homes that already have pets.
Vanderveer also highlighted the impact of the organization’s Neuter Scooter program. Six female cats were spayed during its latest visit, which the OSPCA estimates could prevent about 720 kittens. Another Neuter Scooter visit is scheduled for Oct. 14.
