Base31 and Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings have announced a partnership aimed at creating more affordable homeownership opportunities in Prince Edward County.
The first project will include affordable townhouses in Hilltop Village, the first residential village planned at Base31.
Base31 will provide a block of townhouse lots and lead exterior construction. It will also provide designs and help with development, trade coordination, scheduling and site logistics.
Habitat for Humanity PEH will complete the interiors and select and support qualifying homeowners through its affordable homeownership program.
The Hilltop Village development is planned to include a mix of rental and ownership housing, along with homes for people at different stages of life.
The partnership supports Housing for All, a key part of Base31’s master plan.
The organizations say the first homes will provide a foundation for future affordable homeownership projects at Base31. Details on construction timing and homeowner applications will be released later.
