Rehabilitation work on County Road 49 is set to begin Tuesday, Sept. 8, after delays in bringing specialized equipment and crews into Canada.
The project will use rubblization, which breaks the existing concrete into small pieces to create a base for new asphalt.
Crews will begin at County Road 15, also known as Northport Road, and work south in sections of about one to two kilometres.
At least one lane will remain open at all times, with traffic moving in alternating directions. Drivers should expect delays of about five to 10 minutes. Both lanes will reopen at the end of each workday and on weekends.
Culvert replacement and waterproofing work will also continue toward Picton, with single-lane closures and temporary traffic signals.
A temporary 60 km/h speed limit remains in effect through the construction zone.
The municipality says drivers using County Roads 5 and 15 should follow posted speed limits as traffic volumes increase.
