The Terry Fox Run in Greater Napanee is encouraging residents to register early as organizers prepare for this year’s event at Conservation Park on Sunday, September 20th.
Organizer Rebecca Wilkinson says last year’s event raised $24,889.50 locally, the most raised through the run since 2000. Local schools also raised nearly $9,850 through their own Terry Fox runs.
This year’s event will follow the theme “Finish It.” Registration and check-in will begin at 9 a.m., with the run starting at 9:30 a.m. A five-kilometre route will be offered, with participants able to complete it twice for a 10-kilometre distance.
Organizers are also encouraging participants to form teams with family, friends, co-workers or sports groups.
Funds raised through the event go directly to the Terry Fox Foundation to support cancer research.
Participants can register or donate online through the Terry Fox Run website by searching for the Napanee Run.
