The speed limit on County Road 9 has been reduced to 40 km/h from Hickory Lane, extending 1.3 kilometres south.
This change coming after Lennox and Addington County council approved a one-year trial aimed at preserving the iconic tree canopy while continuing to address safety concerns raised by engineers and the county’s insurer.
Officials say the change is intended to improve roadside safety and help preserve the local tree canopy.
New signs are in place, and OPP will enforce the updated limit.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and drive safely.
