Enterprise Community Hall is marking its 100th anniversary this year with a series of events celebrating the building’s history and its role in the community.
The hall was built in 1926 in less than a year and has kept much of its original interior, including its hardwood floors and some period details.
Don Fenwick, chair of the Enterprise Community Hall Committee, said the building remains a special part of the area.
The hall has hosted weddings, remembrance services, kitchen showers, family gatherings and other community events over the decades.
Fenwick said the building has been used by generations of local families and remains an important gathering place.
Anniversary events begin Sept. 12 with an artist show, historical artifacts and antique motorcycles from the Eastern Shield group. The street outside will be closed for the event.
The Enterprise firefighters’ annual fish fry follows Sept. 13. A special rededication ceremony is planned for Nov. 21 with a ribbon cutting with past and current councillors, plus other local dignitaries.
