The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is bringing its Neuter Scooter to Napanee on Sept. 9 to help local families access spay and neuter services for their cats.
The mobile service will transport cats from central Napanee to a high-volume spay and neuter clinic for surgery before returning them to their families later that day.
Additional services, including rabies vaccinations and microchipping, will also be available.
The Ontario SPCA says spay and neuter surgery helps prevent unplanned litters and reduce the number of animals that may need homes.
The organization launched its Neuter Scooter pilot program in 2024. In 2025, the mobile service made 42 trips across Ontario, providing surgery for 765 cats and preventing an estimated 50,000 unplanned offspring.
Registration is required for the Napanee service. More information and registration are available through the Ontario SPCA’s Lennox and Addington Animal Centre.
