Four people have been charged with drug trafficking offences following a traffic stop in Prince Edward County.
Ontario Provincial Police East Region Community Street Crime Unit officers, assisted by members of the Prince Edward County detachment, conducted the traffic stop Aug. 12.
Police said officers seized about 61 grams of suspected cocaine, $165 in Canadian currency and items believed to be linked to drug trafficking during the investigation.
Marty Cocklin, 50, of Wellington; Michael Marks, 44, of Picton; Peter Norton, 58, of Picton; and Jodie Wells, 31, of Picton, were each charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
All four accused were released from custody.
They are scheduled to appear in Court in Prince Edward County on Oct. 19.
Police are asking anyone with information about illegal drug activity to contact the OPP. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.
