Napanee Muffler and Brakes makes a big donation at the 2025 AHOD Food Drive
The 88.7 myFM All Hands On Deck Food Drive returns this Thursday, Aug. 20, in support of the Napanee Salvation Army and Morningstar Mission food banks.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Jamie and Jaclyn’s No Frills, Napanee Shopper’s Drug Mart, Metro and Walmart.
General Manager Darren Matassa highlights that we at myFM are big supporters of the community we call home.
Matassa has also served as former honourary director for the Hastings Prince Edward Learning Foundation, and was integrally involved in food insecurity, so has a deeper understanding of how important a food drive like this one is.
Abby Mills says the Salvation Army food bank has been especially busy while children are home from school, leaving many families needing more groceries.
Kevin Alkenbrack says the Morningstar Mission has also seen a busy summer.
Mills said rising grocery prices have made it harder to stretch every donation, forcing staff to make difficult decisions about what food to include in each hamper.
