Prince Edward County OPP have charged four more drivers with impaired driving-related offences, bringing the county’s August total to nine.
The latest arrests happened between Saturday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 16.
Shortly after 3 a.m. Aug. 15, officers stopped a motorcycle on Highway 62 after seeing the rider without a helmet. a 19-year-old from Belleville was charged with impaired operation involving alcohol and drugs and failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
Early Aug. 16, officers conducting a RIDE checkpoint in Athol arrested a 27-year-old of Prince Edward County. He faces two impaired driving charges.
About an hour later, officers stopped a vehicle on County Road 11. A 33-year-old from Hamilton was arrested and charged with two alcohol-related impaired driving offences.
Later that day, officers assisted Sandbanks Provincial Park wardens with a disturbance. The 42-year-old of Markham was arrested and charged with two alcohol-related impaired driving offences.
All four drivers received 90-day licence suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for seven days.
