Lennox and Addington County OPP charged two people with impaired driving in separate incidents in Loyalist Township less than 12 hours apart.
Police stopped a vehicle during a RIDE check at County Road 22 and County Road 7 shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday. The driver, a 51-year-old from Kingston, was arrested after registering a fail on an approved screening device.
The accused faces impaired driving charges involving alcohol, as well as charges related to having liquor and cannabis readily available, failing to surrender a licence and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.
Early Monday, just after 5 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle in a ditch on County Road 4 near Maple Road. A 54-year-old from Woburn, Massachusetts, was arrested following an investigation.
The accused faces two impaired driving charges involving alcohol.
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on Sept. 29.
Police said both drivers had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded following the arrests.
