Greater Napanee residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste during Household Hazardous Waste Day
Household Hazardous Waste Day will run September 12th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at GFL Environmental at 444 Advance Ave. in Napanee.
The event is open to Greater Napanee residents only, and proof of residency is required. Commercial waste will not be accepted.
Residents can bring items including paint, household and automotive batteries, old prescriptions, waste oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, solvents, gasoline, propane tanks, aerosols, cleaners and disinfectants.
The collection will also accept sharps such as needles and syringes, as well as all types of household light bulbs and tubes.
Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, biological waste, PCB materials, helium or Freon tanks and old computers, printers and monitors will not be accepted.
Residents are asked to keep materials separate, clearly label containers and secure loads during transport. Damaged containers should be placed in plastic bags to prevent spills.
