The Museum of Lennox & Addington is launching a new series of free creative workshops for adults aged 55 and older.
Called Curious Roots: Creative Explorations of Communities, the program will combine hands-on art activities with local history. Participants will explore photographs, videos, newspaper articles and other materials from the museum’s collections while sharing stories and connecting with others.
The series is funded through the Ontario government’s 2026-27 Seniors Community Grant Program. Workshops will be held every other Monday from 2 to 4 p.m., beginning Aug. 24. Registration is required.
The first workshop, Bloom with Grace, will be led by Theresa Brant, a self-taught Mohawk artist from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Participants will create their own version of Brant’s painting while exploring historic materials from 1976, the year the museum opened.
All supplies will be provided, and the workshop is free. Registration is required by 2 p.m. Aug. 24, or until spaces are filled.
