A Deseronto resident is facing drug and driving-related charges following an Ontario Provincial Police investigation.
The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit arrested a suspect on Dundas Street in Napanee shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Officers then executed a search warrant at a residence on Green Street in Deseronto.
Police say they seized about 10 grams of suspected fentanyl, just under $700 in Canadian currency, a cell phone, scales and items commonly associated with drug trafficking.
William LaBelle, 45, of Deseronto, has been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.
LaBelle was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on October 6.
