Six people have been arrested and charged following a drug trafficking investigation in Napanee.
The Ontario Provincial Police East Region Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and members of the Lennox and Addington County Detachment, executed a search warrant at a Dundas Street residence on Thursday, July 9.
Police say officers seized about 68 grams of suspected fentanyl, suspected morphine tablets, approximately $680 in Canadian currency and items believed to be connected to drug trafficking.
Troy Finch, 57, Patricia Smith, 49, and Andrew Vankoughnet, 46, all of Napanee, face drug trafficking-related charges along with additional charges. Finch, Smith and Vankoughnet were held for bail hearings.
Nichole Hillson, 38, Brandi Kennedy, 48, both of Napanee, and Christopher Roberts, 38, of Tyendinaga First Nation, were also charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The three were released and are scheduled to appear in Napanee court on July 30. Police continue to ask residents to report suspected illegal drug activity.
