The Lennox Community Theatre will host its first official drag show later this month, bringing together local performers and a celebration of musical favourites in a family-friendly event.
The show is set for Sunday, July 19 at 2 p.m. at the theatre in Selby.
Organizer and performer Nina Irvine said the idea grew from her lifelong connection to the theatre and her more recent involvement in drag.
Irvine said the performance is intended to introduce theatre audiences to drag while encouraging drag fans to discover the local venue.
The afternoon show will feature performers from Napanee and Kingston performing songs from stage musicals, Disney productions and movie musicals.
The all-ages event will also include a meet-and-greet before the show.
Irvine went on to say it’s a great introduction for anybody who hasn’t been to a drag show yet.
