The Greater Napanee Fire Department is inviting residents to learn more about becoming a Paid On-Call Firefighter as it prepares for its next recruitment drive.
The department recently welcomed seven new firefighter recruits who have completed their training and are now responding to emergency calls as part of the team.
Fire Chief Shawn Armstrong said the new members bring excitement and potential to the department.
The department will host a recruitment event on Thursday, July 9 from 7 to 8:30 pm at Station 1, located at 66 Advance Avenue. The event will include information about the application process, physical testing and the written exam.
Deputy Fire Chief James Feeney said the event is designed to answer questions in a relaxed setting.
Armstrong encouraged anyone interested in serving the community to attend.
