Macpherson House in Greater Napanee will mark its 200th anniversary on July 3 with a free community celebration at the historic site.
The Museum of Lennox and Addington says the event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature music, art activities, and tours.
Program co-ordinator Alannah MacGregor says the house continues to bring people together,
Built in 1826, the Macpherson House is one of the region’s oldest homes and was later restored by local volunteers after falling into disrepair in the 1950s.
The celebration will include live music, stilt walkers, a juggler, and family activities,
Weekly summer programming will continue through the season with themed activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays and tours on Wednesdays, as staff note,
The event is free and open to the public, with optional paid items such as face painting, cupcakes, and lemonade available on site.
A rain date is set for Saturday, July 4th.
