A 40,000-pound fire truck will be the centre of attention this Saturday as teams gather at Best and Bash Arena for the 2nd annual Greater Napanee Fire Truck Pull.
The fundraiser, organized by Greater Napanee Connect, will see teams compete while raising money for causes important to them.
Tiffany Lloyd says registration opens at 9 a.m., with the first pull scheduled for 10 a.m.
Teams will support a variety of local initiatives, including a new scholarship fund created in memory of Captain Pete Hayes, the Veterans Crosswalk repainting project, local hospice care, the Christmas toy drive and Interval House.
Lloyd said community support plays a major role in determining the event’s top team.
Spectators are encouraged to attend, cheer on participants and donate to the teams of their choice. Funds collected from registration fees will also contribute to a cash bonus awarded to the winning team’s cause.
Lloyd said individuals who do not have a full team can still take part.
The event is open to the public and aims to raise money for a range of community projects and organizations.
