The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is inviting residents to find a new pet during its Spring Adoption Days taking place May 29 and May 30 at animal centres across Ontario, including the Lennox and Addington Animal Centre in Napanee.
The two-day event aims to help more animals find loving homes while creating space for others in need of care. Special attention is being given to large breed dogs, which often wait longer for adoption. During the event, adoption fees for dogs over 65 pounds will be reduced by 50 per cent.
The Ontario SPCA says spring is one of its busiest intake periods as more animals enter its care. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before going home.
Adopters will also receive pet food, a free virtual vet appointment, calming pheromone products and a coupon book valued at $300 to support the transition.
