A Toronto man is facing impaired driving charges after police found him asleep behind the wheel of a pickup truck on Highway 7 in Marmora and Lake.
Ontario Provincial Police said officers with the Central Hastings detachment were on general patrol around 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18 when they located the vehicle stopped in a right-hand turn lane.
Police said the driver was asleep inside the truck with the vehicle door open.
The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the Central Hastings detachment for further testing.
Angelo Bove, 41, of Toronto, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Belleville on June 29.
Police also suspended the driver’s licence for 90 days and impounded the vehicle for seven days.
