A new community shoe drive in Greater Napanee is helping make sure local students have proper footwear to take part in school activities.
myFM spoke with LDSB trustee, Tiffany Lloyd, who says the initiative began after a conversation with Leigh from A Loveleigh Place about the need for running shoes in local schools.
Lloyd said staff members have been helping, spending their own money to buy shoes so students can participate in gym class, recess and track and field events.
Donation bins have already been placed inside the store, and Lloyd said community support has been strong. As part of local Pride activities, a donation basket will also be available during Art in the Park on May 30.
