A new community Shoe Drive in Greater Napanee is aiming to help local students get properly fitting footwear before the end of the school year.
A Loveleigh Place Tutoring & Art has partnered with Limestone District School Board Trustee Tiffany Lloyd to collect new shoes for K–12 students in need.
Organizers say many children have already outgrown the shoes they started the school year with, while some families may struggle to replace them mid-year.
The campaign is collecting new, practical footwear for students of all ages, with a special need for larger youth and adult sizes.
Donations can be dropped off at A Loveleigh Place, located at 6 Mill St E, Unit B, in Greater Napanee, from Tuesday through Saturday until May 30.
A collection basket will also be available at the Greater Napanee Pride in the Park event from noon until 4 p.m.
All donated shoes will be distributed directly to local schools for students in need.
