The Museum of Lennox and Addington is welcoming spring with two new exhibits celebrating the changing world of language and communication.
The first exhibit, “What’s the Word?”, is an in-house display running until January 2027. It explores how language evolves over time through 14 outdated words and phrases. The exhibit features 3D artwork by local artist Michelle Trotter, along with interactive activities including an emoji wall and a vintage typewriter station.
The museum is also hosting “Canadian English, Eh?”, a travelling exhibit from the Canadian Language Museum. Running until June 19, the exhibit explores regional Canadian expressions and the influence of French and Indigenous languages on English in Canada.
Museum officials say the exhibits offer visitors a fun and thoughtful look at how words and communication continue to change across generations and cultures.
