Greater Napanee Pride is set to return May 30, marking its fifth year with a full day of celebrations, a parade, and a night of entertainment.
Organizers say the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Conservation Park, where attendees can gather for opening speeches and performances before the parade steps off at 11 a.m.
myFM spoke with Greater Napanee’s own drag superstar, Oktavia Kalor, who says everyone is welcome.
The parade will follow a two-kilometre route through Springside Park and into downtown Napanee, and back down to Conservation Park.
Following the parade, Pride in the Park will run from noon to 4 p.m., offering family-friendly activities including crafts, face painting, balloons and a foam blaster. Vendors, barbecue food and live entertainment are also planned.
An evening event will cap off the day, with the return of the “Pride in the Country” concert featuring drag performances. Full details about the nighttime lineup are expected to be announced soon.
A flag raising is also planned for May 29th at the town’s administrative building, 99 Advance Ave.
Organizers say sponsorship opportunities remain open and are encouraging community support as the volunteer-run event continues to grow.
