A 41-year-old Selby man is facing impaired driving charges after a police response in Belleville, according to the Belleville Police Service.
Police say officers were called on April 3 at about 2:23 a.m. after reports of a suspected impaired driver. A man was found “slumped over” in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the engine running.
Officers woke the driver and observed signs of impairment, leading to an arrest.
The accused has been charged with operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, operation while impaired by alcohol, and careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Police say the accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in May.
