A traffic complaint in Prince Edward County led to impaired driving charges after police stopped a suspected dangerous driver.
OPP Officers received the complaint at about 10:45 p.m. on March 27, 2026, reporting a vehicle being driven in a dangerous manner.
Police located the driver and conducted a roadside screening test using an Approved Screening Device, leading to an arrest.
The driver, 67-year-old Dwayne Benway of Prince Edward County, was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing.
The accused faces charges of operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 at a future court date.
Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle was impounded for seven days.
