Hydro One will be carrying out routine vegetation maintenance across the Town of Deseronto to help keep electricity service safe and reliable.
The work includes tree trimming near power lines, removing hazardous trees, and brush control. Officials say the maintenance is needed to maintain safe clearances around electrical infrastructure and reduce the risk of power outages.
The project is registered under Ontario’s Endangered Species Act – Species at Risk (ESA-SAR), and environmental impacts are being reviewed as part of the planning process.
Residents are being encouraged to share concerns about environmentally sensitive areas so they can be considered before and during the work.
Hydro One says the maintenance is part of its ongoing system upkeep across the region.
