A new hands-on hair styling event is coming to Greater Napanee this spring, giving dads and caregivers a chance to learn braiding in a relaxed, social setting.
Brews and Braids will take place on May 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Loaf N’ Ale in downtown Napanee.
myFM spoke with organizer Robyn Mae, who said the idea for the event came from her own experience of having parents who weren’t the best at doing hair.
The concept was also inspired by a similar event overseas, called “pints and ponytails.” After a local father suggested hosting something like it in the community, Robyn put her own twist on the idea, creating Brews and Braids.
Tickets are $15 plus tax and can be purchased at bloomandcaptureco.net, with a portion of proceeds being donated.
Local hairstylist Jess Daynard will lead the event. Jess is a Belleville area stylist with 12 years of experience, specializing in bridal and special occasion hair.
The event is targeted toward dads but is open to anyone interested, including caregivers, grandparents, and friends. Only 30 tickets are available, and digital tickets will be emailed after purchase.
As well, stay tuned for detail on her next event, Sips and Styles.
