The CAA Worst Roads Campaign returns for its 23rd year, giving Ontario drivers a chance to highlight roads in need of repair.
Luckily, no road in Greater Napanee or L&A County has made it on the list in recent history. So we’ll begin with a shoutout to our local crews who maintain our roads!
CAA government relations consultant Brian Pirvu says the public call-out of Ontario’s worst roads has seen infrastructure funding made available and repairs made.
Just last week, the Province announced funding to rehabilitate County Road 49 in Prince Edward County, making note of it often being named on this list.
Aside from being uncomfortable to drive on, poor road conditions and potholes can also lead to a number issues for your vehicle including tire and rim damage, as well as suspension as sometimes your alignment could also be thrown off.
Pirvu adds that a road being in poor condition isn’t just about how comfortable it is to drive on.
Pirvu says while the survey will mostly be filled out by people driving on the roads, it’s open to a number of different groups.
In 2025, CR 49 in PEC was ranked the 3rd worst in Ontario. Rounding out the Top 5 worst in Eastern Ontario were Glen Road (Belleville), Water Street (Peterborough), Victoria Road (Prince Edward County), and Queen Street (Kingston).
