Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Greater Napanee and nearby areas, with snow expected late this morning through Saturday morning.
Total snowfall is forecast at 10 to 15 cm, with rates up to 5 cm per hour and periods of reduced visibility in heavy snow.
Snow may mix with rain this afternoon and evening, and falling temperatures tonight could create icy roads and sidewalks.
The heaviest snow is expected over higher elevations, including the Oak Ridges Moraine. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution, as roads and walkways may become difficult to navigate.
Residents are advised to take frequent breaks and avoid overexertion while clearing snow. The storm will continue through today and overnight, so plan travel and outdoor activities carefully.
