Town of Greater Napanee is inviting residents to apply for its newly established Trails Development Advisory Committee.
Town council approved the creation of the committee to formalize the work of the Ad Hoc Trails Committee, which was formed in 2023. The new group will provide advice to council on trail planning, amenities, and promotion as the municipality continues to invest in its in-town trail network.
Applications are being accepted until March 13. Council is scheduled to review submissions on March 24, with the committee’s first meeting expected to take place in early April.
The advisory committee will be asked to recommend trail amenities such as lighting, benches, and recreational features, as outlined in the 2026 budget. Members will also provide advice on signage and promotional strategies used by other communities. If directed by council, the committee may also offer guidance on a potential trail connection to the Cataraqui Trail in Strathcona.
Committee members may consult third-party experts and recommend additional responsibilities, subject to council approval.
