Yarker native Jay Dearborn finished 23rd overall in the two-man bobsleigh event at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
Dearborn served as pilot for Canada, teaming up with brakeman Mike Evelyn. The duo posted a combined time of 2:49.78 over three runs against the world’s top sliding teams.
Germany dominated the podium. Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer, who led after the opening heats, secured the gold medal. Germany also captured silver and bronze to complete a sweep of the event.
Dearborn now turns his focus to the four-man bobsleigh competition, where he will again pilot Team Canada. The four-man event is scheduled for Feb. 21 and 22, with the first two heats set for 3:50 a.m. Eastern on Saturday, followed by the final two heats at 3:50 a.m. Eastern on Sunday.
