Greater Napanee is increasing funding for encampment management as part of its 2026 municipal budget. The town has allocated additional money for contracted encampment clean-up services and increased legal costs connected to encampment-related matters.
Throughout 2026, the town will continue education and enforcement under its Parks By-law and Encampment Response Protocol. Encampment management will also become a dedicated service level for Municipal Law Enforcement to ensure consistent oversight.
Fire services support will remain a priority to help protect the safety of people living in and around encampments, as well as nearby properties.
