To provide further information to residents about where investments are being made through the 2026 Budget, the Town of Greater Napanee will be issuing a number of echo announcements over the coming week. First up, fire safety.
The Town is increasing its investment in fire safety as part of the 2026 municipal budget. Funding has been approved for a new ladder truck, purchased at a discounted price and financed over the next 10 years, to replace an aging vehicle in the fire department’s fleet.
The budget also includes $232,000 for new firefighter protective equipment. The investment is aimed at ensuring firefighters are properly equipped to respond to a wide range of emergency situations and improve overall response efficiency.
Town officials say the spending reflects a focus on protecting both firefighters and the community they serve. The enhanced fire safety funding is part of the town’s broader effort to strengthen essential services under the 2026 budget.
