The Town of Greater Napanee is contacting residents who may have accidentally received extra garbage bag tags in the mail.
Under the curbside collection special tax levy, each household receives 50 tags per year. Due to a computer system error, up to 106 households—about 1.7% of all residential properties—may have been sent an extra set of tags.
Town staff are reaching out to affected residents to arrange the return of the additional tags. Council members have been informed of the issue.
The town says the mix-up was unintentional and encourages residents to cooperate to ensure fairness in the curbside collection program. Residents with questions are advised to contact town offices directly.
