An off-duty Ontario Provincial Police officer has been charged after an investigation in Stone Mills Township.
Lennox and Addington County OPP say an officer was approached by a man who had just exited his vehicle around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25. Police say the man showed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
He was taken to the L&A County detachment for testing.
Police identified the accused as 33-year-old Benjamin Snider of Prince Edward County.
Investigators say Snider is a constable with the OPP East Region and was off duty.
Snider is charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
He is scheduled to appear in Court of Justice in Napanee on Feb. 10 next month there.
