The Ontario government is investing up to $8 million to plan 16 new and expanded primary care teaching clinics, aimed at connecting 300,000 more people to family doctors and primary care teams.
The list includes clinics in Belleville and Kingston, powered by Queens University Medical School.
Each clinic will receive up to $500,000 for planning and will train family medicine residents in team-based care alongside nurses and other health professionals.
The investment is part of Ontario’s $2.1-billion Primary Care Action Plan, with the first clinics expected to open in 2027 or 2028.
