Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Greater Napanee and surrounding areas, warning of snowfall this morning. Accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected, with reduced visibility during heavier bursts. Although the totals are modest, the timing could make the Monday commute challenging as traffic patterns return to normal following the holiday season.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to plan for extra travel time, exercise caution, and be prepared for slippery roads and walkways. The snow is expected to begin early this morning and taper off by the afternoon. Residents are urged to monitor local updates and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe start to the work week.
Due to the snow, all school bus and taxi transportation in the Tri-Board Student Transportation Services area has been cancelled today. Schools remain open, but parents or guardians who drive students to school will need to pick them up at the end of the day.
