Severe weather is expected to impact ferry operations as strong winds move into the region, continuing into Tuesday morning.
Environment Canada forecasted powerful winds beginning Sunday evening, December 28, with conditions expected to last until the morning of Tuesday, December 30. As a result, ferry service may face delays or cancellations during that time.
Travellers are being advised to plan ahead and closely monitor service updates before heading to ferry terminals. Weather conditions can change quickly, and schedules may be adjusted with little notice for safety reasons.
If ferry service is disrupted, the Ministry of Transportation says terminal buildings will remain open. Customers will have access to shelter, drinking water, washroom facilities, and power while waiting.
Officials remind travellers that safety remains the top priority during severe weather events and thank the public for their patience and cooperation.
