It was a thrilling night in Picton, and the Napanee Raiders hit the road to take on the Pirates in the County.
Picton took an early 1-0 lead in the first period. Mason Goodfellow then scored the Raiders first of the night on the Power Play, assisted by Eric Taher and Andrew Carr, to tie the game. The second period saw the Pirates score twice more, both times on the power play, to take a 3-1 lead. Late in the period Mason Goodfellow scored his second of the night, also on the Power Play, assisted by Eric Taher, to bring the Raiders within one goal. 9-seconds into the third period, Raiders’ Cole McEwen scored on the Power Play, assisted by Matthew Airhart and Trent Williams, to tie the game 3-3. To overtime we go, where 3 and a half minutes in, Raiders Andrew Carr found the back of the net, assisted by Eric Taher, to win 4-3 in Overtime!
Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 26 saves on 29 shots on goals.
The Napanee Raiders are in third place in the East Tod Division standings with a 16-9-2-0-1 record and 34 points.
The Raiders are back in action Friday, December 19th when they host the Trent Hills Thunder at 7:30pm. Then on Sunday, December 21st, the Raiders play the Panthers in Port Hope at 1:30pm
