Lennox and Addington residents may notice trucks on local roads this week applying a proactive winter maintenance treatment called Direct Liquid Application (DLA).
DLA involves spraying a liquid multi-chloride brine directly onto roads before or during winter storms. The treatment helps prevent snow and ice from sticking to the pavement, making it easier to keep roads safe and clear.
Officials say DLA works immediately on contact, reduces the amount of salt needed, minimizes environmental impact, and helps maintain safer roads throughout storms.
This treatment is part of a county-wide initiative, and crews may also be seen in neighbouring municipalities working together to improve winter road safety across the region.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, give maintenance vehicles space, and stay cautious while crews are working on the roads.
